About US
Cinematic Noise Trio
William Davison - prepared guitar and amplified objects
David Story - synthesizer and percussion
Gordon Way - percussion, loops and textures
Fade/Dissolve is an improvised music project consisting of Gordon Way (percussion and loops), David Story (synthesizer and percussion), and William Davison (prepared guitar and amplified objects). Based in Toronto, Canada, the group creates improvised, experimental "soundtracks" to imagined films using a variety of electronic and electroacoustic sound sources. These soundtracks are later paired with abstract video fragments to create surreal and expressionistic ambient music videos.
Bios:
Gordon Way makes digital images and films, plays drums, designs expressionist sound loops and compositions.
Because otherwise he would go mad.
David Story, synthesist and drummer. Making great noise since 1974 when in the family basement his mad scientist comrade brought over a clarinet and a paper bag with two wires with protruding alligator clips: one for the horn, the other for the amp.
William Davison is the founder of Recordism. Unfortunately, neither he nor anyone else knows what that is.
